How Do We Make Texas Great Again? (CE #111458) +

Annual Awards & Presentation of the New Board

Think things are slow in Austin since the legislature is not in session? Think again! Find out what TAHU has been doing for you both in Austin and in DC through NAHU over the last 6 months. Meet TAHU’s new Texas lobbyist, Shannon Meroney, and ask her anything you want to know about Texas politics, PAC giving, or what TAHU is doing to change the game and take action now that the pendulum of health care reform has swung back to the states.

Shannon Meroney was selected by the TAHU Board out of 300+ applicants in November to be new TAHU lobbyist. She brings fifteen years experience as a multi-state lobbyist based primarily at the Texas Capitol and ten years of courtroom legal expertise to her dynamic government affairs consulting practice. She and her husband, Mike Meroney, own Meroney Public Affairs in Austin and have both been recognized and ranked as one the top 100 “Hired Gun” Lobbyists in Texas by the online political magazine Capitol Inside.

The Meroneys serve as trusted advisers to clients, helping them influence legislation, regulations, and perceptions through direct legislative and regulatory advocacy, grassroots activation, and coalition building. Their expertise and network of relationships will help TAHU achieve its public policy goals and business objectives by shaping decision-making in Texas, Washington, and across the United States.

In addition to the CE, DAHU will recognize those Members who have made lasting contributions with the following awards:

  • Hendershot Award: the company whose support of DAHU exceeded all others.
  • Stellar Award: the Member who has shown consistent participation in and support of DAHU activities.
